About the Foundation
The Florida Greenways and Trails Foundation, Inc. (FGTF) exists to support the mission and programs of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Office of Greenways and Trails (OGT) as they work toward establishing a statewide system of greenways and trails for recreation, conservation and alternative transportation.
Since state regulations do not permit direct gifts, bequests, grants or endowments for any state program, the Foundation offers a much-needed, flexible source of funding. As a tax-exempt, 501(c) (3) organization, donations to the Florida Greenways and Trails Foundation, Inc., can be tax-deductible.

What Funds Do
Your financial support can contribute to:
- Supporting trail enhancement projects.
- Enabling the Foundation to make grants to trail projects around the state.
- Public education and awareness projects.
- Promoting special events and tours.
- Creating an endowment fund to further enhance the work of the Foundation in perpetuity.
- Sponsoring research on resource and recreation management.
- Working with the Leaders of the State in Growth Planning and Growth Management.
- Providing equipment, programs and other resources.
- Sponsoring exhibits, programs and publications.
